Heathy Lea is in the Peak District on the Chatsworth Estate just outside Baslow, making it well placed for rock climbing, walking and mountain biking. The Derbyshire gritstone edges of Birchen, Chatsworth and Gardom’s edges are within walking distance. Other gritstone edges and limestone climbing areas are all a short drive away. The Robin Hood and Wheatsheaf pubs, plus the cafés and restaurants of Baslow are all within easy walking distance.
Heathy Lea consists of a cottage, adjacent to the old pump house, and a barn. You can hire just the Cottage, or the Cottage and Barn together. The Cottage sleeps a total of 12 people, 6 in each of two bedrooms, the Barn sleeps a further 8 people. No animals are allowed in the cottage or the barn.
In the kitchen, there is an electric cooker with hob, 2 ovens and grill, a toaster, electric kettle and microwave, plus all the necessary cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and tea towels. In the lounge there is a sofa and chairs, a small dining table, a solid fuel burning stove with coal provided, electric storage heater and small climbing book library. There is a small washroom/toilet (1 wash basin) with a fan heater, hot water and shower. The porch contains a fridge and shelves for food storage, and hanging space for wet gear. There is an additional outside toilet near the porch in a separate building.
