The first hut specifically designed as a climber’s hut, opened in 1930. There is a very well equipped kitchen (two gas & one electric hobs, two ovens, two microwaves, two fridges, ample pots & pans, crockery, cutlery etc.) and a large refectory table in front of the open fire making this an ideal place for a group meal on the Saturday night if the attendees would like to plan together.
There is plenty of choice where you can sleep, but note we are only taking up 1/2 the hut and may be sharing with others. Upstairs men only bunkroom sleeps 18 ; 2 toilets, shower, wash basins. 6 bunks reserved at all times for the use of Wayfarers and Climbers Club members. Annexe women only bunkroom for 6, toilet, shower, wash room. 2 bunks reserved at all times for the use of Wayfarers and Climbers Club members. Annexe mixed bunkroom, sleeps 11; 2 toilets, shower, wash basin. Large drying cupboard.
Parking outside the hut for approximately 12 cars.
The nearest pub is about 10-15 minutes walk away: The New Dungeon Ghyll hotel and the Stickle Barn, which both serve good food and real ale.
